You only need to use one copper disc rivet to fix each slate. Copper Disc Rivets by Samac Fixings are bent downwards in order to hold the tail of the slate. This enables protection against wind uplift. To achieve the correct bend in the rivet shank, it is recommended to tap it twice with a hammer – once at a forty five degree angle to the pin and then onto the surface of the slate.

To allow the copper rivets Screwfix to be properly inserted, a second hole will need to be drilled 50 millimetres from the outside edge of the slate.
