Wallbarn High Tenacity Polypropylene Geotextile - 1000gsm - 100m2
Wallbarn distributes a wide variety of top quality non-woven geotextile fabrics in different densities, roll sizes and type to suit any application, these geotextile fabrics including polypropylene geoxtextile membranes.
These quality fabrics are available in polypropylene, polyester or compound mixtures and are ideal for use in conjunction with a number of different projects including protection, drainage, filtration, soil stabilisation & green roofing.
Water can pass through the fibres at different speeds, depending on the density of the fleece. The soil and other particles will remain in place, avoiding water-logging and subsidence; giving a dryer, stronger and more stable ground base for construction.
Geotextiles can be woven, knitted or non-woven. Different fabric composition and construction are suitable for different applications. Non-woven geotextiles are an arrangement of fibres either oriented or randomly patterned in a sheet, resembling felt. These geotextiles provide planar water flow in addition to stabilisation of soil.
Typical applications for geotextile fabrics include:
- Access roads
- Aggregate drains
- Asphalt pavement overlays
- Erosion control
Our range of high tenacity polypropylene geoxtextile fabrics non-woven, high tensile fabrics are made from the best quality raw materials and manufactured to the highest standards, which provide uniform and consistent strength throughout the roll, so no weak spots will appear.
Usually constructed of polypropylene or polyester, other materials that are used are nylon, polyvinylidene chloride, polyethylene & fibreglass. There are three different types of woven geotextiles. They are slit tape, monofilament & multifilament. The slit tape is produced by slitting sheets of solid or extruded film & then weaving them together. A monofilament fabric is woven from string-like fabric & the mutifilament fabric is produced by fine filaments that are adhered to each other by intermingling or twisting the strands.
We also supply fabrics with a special needle-punch technology which is extremely strong. By achieving the same performance but with lower material content, less waste and emissions are generated for the building scheme and the environment.
The makeup of the fabric is uniform throughout the roll, so no weak spots will be present in the layer. Geotextile fabrics also provide a very viable, flexible, permeable protection and cushioning layer on areas such as reservoirs and landfills. A preliminary layer can be installed to prevent soil movement and stones from piercing delicate membranes above.
A geotextile fabric will also act as an extremely effective as subterranean soil stabilisation membranes. Either covering buried pipes or lining drains, they will ensure the passage of water without risk of land slippage, greatly improving the quality of the area.
These properties ensure that geotextile fabrics are absolutely ideal to for use in conjunction with:
- Stabilisation & strengthening
- Prevention of unevenness on driveways
- Prevention of the mixing of construction layers
- Providing a highly effective filtration layer for all drainage applications
- Top quality non-woven geotextile fabrics
- Gives a dryer, stronger and more stable ground base for construction
- Erosion control
