The Velux curved glass rooflight is set in an aluminium profile, which, in addition to being incredibly weather resistant, blends the rooflight in perfectly with flat roof materials. The internal frame is made from high-quality PVC, which offers wear-resistant and maintenance free properties. Inside the frame, the latest VELUX ThermoTechnology™ insulation has been incorporated.

The innovation extends to the double glazing, where the most recent insulating technologies have been used. This is an essential feature, as the roof contributes to one of the highest percentages of heat loss. In addition to ensuring that no heat escapes through the unit, the rooflight features a range of safety features.

One of the most significant safety features, the curved outer pane is made from 5-6mm of toughened glass. When glass has been toughened, it prevents the pane from shattering into sharp shards upon impact. Instead, it breaks into dulled edged cubes, making it less of a health and safety hazard.

On top of that, the Velux Curved Rooflight features an inner laminated pane, which prevents a shattered pane from coming away from the frame if an impact is made.

The 5-6mm of toughened glass, in addition to the internal panes, provides significant noise reduction and sound insulating properties. This means you don’t have to worry about being disrupted by the loud clattering of rain or hail on the window.
