Square Roof Shingles Kit Components

Square Butt Felt Shingles Complete Kit is available to purchase in a range of different sizes. Felt shingles are typically applied to summer houses, garden sheds and outbuildings so you can purchase a kit that meets the coverage that you require.
Each kit will contain the following items:

1. Square Felt Roof Shingles
2. Cromar Protect 1F underlay
3. Large head felt nails
4. Tubes of lap sealant

We also stock two nail sizes, select the appropriate size once you've selected the kit that you require. Square Butt Felt Shingles are well known for their high performance qualities. This is due to the composition of each of the layered materials. The base layer consists of heavyweight fibreglass which, despite its name, is lightweight yet durable. The fibreglass is then layered with oxidised bitumen, which further enhances its durability and adds a waterproof layer to the shingle. The upper layer adds a range of additional high performance factors. The upper layer is then coated in coloured mineral granules which give the shingle its unique colour range. To finish, A UV resistant coating is applied to the top layer to ensure the colours don't fade in sunlight. Square Butt Felt Shingles Complete Kit gives you everything you need to apply the roof successfully. The shingles themselves have been manufactured with a useful tab and groove system, which helps you to achieve the most effective layering and further enhances its waterproof qualities. With the correct layering, you can be confident that your shingle will provide your roof with a waterproof and weatherproof surface.The Cromar Protect 1F underlay is only necessary for roof pitches between 15 and 45 degrees. For roof pitches steeper than 45 degrees and for vertical surfaces, underlay isn't required. 

How to Install TechnoNICOL Square Roof Shingle Ridges

Cut the shingles into three tabs. Use a chalk line to ensure correct positioning. Nail the first ridge tab in position and continue to overlap the run, using appropriate mastic to seal down the edges. Seal lap joints in ridge shingles using appropriate mastic. Bend the shingles lengthways to dress the slope of the roof (if temperatures are cold, heat the shingles to prevent cracking).
