Sandtoft 20/20 Tile Laying Recommendations

Sandtoft recommends laying 20/20 tiles in a broken (or cross) bond pattern to replicate the traditional look of double-lapped slates. While it is possible to lay them in a straight bond pattern (like other single-lapped tiles), this is not recommended for the following reasons:

• All Sandtoft specifications, including minimum roof pitch and fixing requirements, are based on broken bond installation.
• The 20/20 plastic tile clip is designed exclusively for tiles laid in a broken bond.
• Sandtoft has not tested the performance of 20/20 tiles laid in a straight bond, so RoofSPEC guarantees and durability warranties do not apply to straight-bond installations.

For optimal performance and to maintain warranty coverage, always follow Sandtoft's recommendation to lay the tiles in a broken bond pattern.
