Marley is a manufacturer that is fully ready for the future of sustainable building. The EcoLogic is a highly innovative concrete roof tile that improves air quality by absorbing nitrogen oxides. It is also manufactured from 50% recycled materials making it one of the most sustainable and environmentally beneficial roofing products available on the market.

The unique granule finish of the EcoLogic comes from titanium dioxide catalysts combining with surface layers of granule and a cement slurry coating. This works as a photo catalyst that is stimulated by sunlight to remove both forms of nitrogen oxide that form nitrogen dioxide and nitric oxide. These forms are known to cause respiratory problems and contribute to smog in urban and built up areas.

The nitrogen oxide reacts with the titanium oxide and sunlight to produce nitrates which are then harmlessly washed away from the surface of the tile by the rain. This means that a roof covered in EcoLogic tiles essentially acts as a giant air purifier that removes harmful atmospheric pollution and minimises the associated risks such as asthma.

Based on the Ludlow Major profile, the EcoLogic tiles are able to achieve an A+ rating in the BRE Green Guide to Specification. An additional benefit is that being certified in the BES 6001 standard for Responsible Sourcing means that projects using EcoLogic tiles can achieve extra credits under the BREEAM family of environmental assessment schemes.
