Enviroflex Acrylic Primer is a water based, high viscosity blue primer intended for adhesion promotion and stain blocking on bitumen or asphalt substrates. The product is a single component liquid and is supplied in plastic containers of different volumes.

Enviroflex Acrylic Primer is designed to improve adhesion to the following substrates:

  • Aged bitumen (sanded or mineral finished
  • Mastic Asphalt

Surface Preparation

Ensure the substrate is sound, clean, dry and free of frost, dust and debris, and any material which would hinder adhesion.

Application Conditions

Apply only when atmospheric and substrate temperatures are greater than 5 °C. The surface of the substrate should be clean and dry and must be 3 °C above the dew point. If the surface is below or at dew point temperature then moisture can form at the surface and affect coating adhesion and curing.

Application Method

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) should be worn.

Stir opened primer to ensure uniform material consistency. Once ready, apply the white primer onto the prepared substrate in a flowing motion and spread thinly using a brush or roller.

Specified coverage rates and even coverage can be achieved by rolling the primer using a nylon roller avoiding unnecessary accumulation of product.

The specified Enviroflex™ System can be applied above the primed surface when the blue primer coating cures. Depending upon atmospheric conditions, curing time can be approx 1 hour (at 20°C / 50% RH).
