Sika

JJ Roofing stocks a carefully selected range of Sika roofing systems, primers, waterproofing products and sealants. The products are designed to work together as complete flat-roofing solutions or to complement existing systems:

  • Liquid waterproofing membranesSikalastic D-10 RoofPro is a one-component, cold-applied, moisture-triggered polyurethane membrane that forms a seamless, durable waterproof coating. It is compatible with Sika Reemat Premium reinforcement and can be easily re-coated to extend service life. For projects requiring a vapour control layer, S-Vap 5000E SA provides a multi-layer, self-adhesive barrier with polymer-modified bitumen, glass-fibre mat, and aluminium foil reinforcement. Suitable for concrete, timber and metal decks, it can even act as temporary waterproofing for up to four weeks.
  • Primers and vapour controlPrimer 600 is a one-part synthetic rubber and resin-based primer used to improve adhesion between Sika membranes and substrates such as concrete and metal. It offers proven performance and flame-free application. Sikalastic Metal Primer is a two-component anticorrosive epoxy primer for exposed metal substrates. It cures quickly (ready for overcoat in about six hours), is applied by brush or roller, and protects against corrosion while enhancing adhesion. Sika Concrete Primer LO is a low-odour, rapid-curing, two-component primer that improves adhesion of SikaRoof and Sikalastic systems on cementitious substrates. For refurbishments, Sika Reactivation Primer reactivates existing polyurethane membranes when the standard recoating window has been exceeded.

  • Adhesives and joint sealantsSika Stixall is a one-part, chemically curing hybrid adhesive and sealant designed to bond virtually any building material. It provides excellent initial grab with high bond strength, can be applied to wet surfaces, is waterproof and weatherproof, cures quickly and resists temperatures from –40 °C to +100 °C. The product also offers primer-less adhesion to metals, plastics, glass, timber, masonry and more. SikaHyflex-250 Facade is a single-component, low-modulus polyurethane joint sealant for sealing movement and connection joints in concrete, masonry and EIFS facades. It has very high movement capability (+100 % / –50 %), is easy to tool, has low emissions and resists weathering.

  • Reinforcement matting and GRP accessoriesSika Reemat Premium is a heavy-duty glass-fibre mat designed to reinforce liquid roofing systems. It adapts to complex shapes and profiles, improving system strength and durability while offering easy application. JJ Roofing also stocks compatible tools and accessories such as rollers, application kits and cleaners.

FAQs

1. What is Sika known for in the roofing industry?
Sika is renowned for innovation in waterproofing and roofing systems. The company produces high-performance membranes, vapour barriers, primers, adhesives and sealants that form durable, seamless roofs.

2. Are Sika products suitable for domestic roofs?
Yes. Although widely used for commercial and industrial projects, Sika systems such as Sikalastic D-10 RoofPro and S-Vap 5000E SA are equally effective on domestic roofs, balconies and terraces.

3. Can Sika waterproofing products be applied in cold weather?
Many Sika membranes and primers are formulated for cold-applied installation. Sikalastic D-10 RoofPro cures quickly at low temperatures, but always follow the product data sheet for temperature guidance.

4. What surface preparation is required before using Sika primers?
Surfaces should be clean, dry and free of grease or debris. Metal may need abrasion or blasting; concrete should be sound and dust-free for proper adhesion.

5. How long do Sika roof coatings last?
Sika membranes are designed for long service life. Sikalastic D-10 RoofPro can be re-coated to extend its lifespan, while vapour layers such as S-Vap 5000E SA retain airtightness and adhesion for years. Regular inspection and maintenance ensure maximum longevity.
