Cromar 225mm x 10m Bitumen Flashing Tape
The Cromar bitumen flashing tape is a heavy duty option that is self-adhesive and designed for use in roofing jobs where lead flashing is not necessary but some waterproofing is still required. The heavy duty lead-look finish of the Cromar bitumen flashing tape makes it perfect for trade use and the variety of sizes this product is available in allows for excellent flexibility. It will provide a permanent watertight seal immediately so it can be used for sealing, repairing as well as protecting.
The Cromar bitumen flashing tape will bond to the vast majority of building materials including concrete roof tiles, glass, plastic, felt, slates, masonry, brick, wood, concrete and metal. That means it also has a wide variety of different uses that includes repairing lead flashing, sealing up valley gutters and protecting tank and pipe insulation.
Before you begin applying the Cromar bitumen flashing tape, you must make sure that the surface is dust-free and clean. Prior to application, you must cut the tape down to the required length. In order to avoid creases, we recommend peeling a small section of it back before positioning it into place.
The remaining backing strip can then be removed to reveal the adhesive side and smooth the tape out. For optimal performance and to reduce the chances of any air entering, JJ Roofing recommends using a roller over the overlaps and edges.
When laying more than a single strip of the tape next to another, it is always best to leave a gap to ensure a fully watertight seal.
