ClassicBond EPDM Roofing Rubber Membrane
ClassicBond roofing membranes are non-reinforced Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer (EPDM) based elastomer homogeneous roof coverings. The professional grade membranes are all BBA approved, and are suitable for use for singly-ply roofing systems and re-roofing applications.
The membrane has excellent resistance to extreme temperatures, UV and aging, and can be installed without the use of heat or flames. The one piece sheet means there are no joints and potential leaks, and the membrane is highly resistant to punctures, tears, splits and cracks. The standard 1.2mm membrane is almost 10% thicker than most leading competitors, and this maintenance free, environmentally friendly roofing system is ideal for refurbishments or new build projects.
The membranes are available in two thicknesses – 1.2mm and 1.5mm, and both thicknesses have achieved Broof T4 fire ratings. The membranes meet lightweight requirements, and no specialist equipment is required for installation.
They are suitable for installation over a variety of decks, and the fully adhered application allows for installation on any roof slope. Our blog has an article on the benefits and how to lay EPDM on your shed roof which is an interesting insight for a DIYer. Information can also be found on roof preparation before covering it with EPDM which advises proper planning before going ahead.
If you have not considered using EPDM before but have thought about other flat roofing materials such as torch on felt or fibreglass (GRP), take a look at our extended flat roof material product comparison which outlines the benefits and negatives of each which may aid your decision.
