ClassicBond Lap Sealant is specifically formulated to seal the exposed edges of EPDM membrane splices and uncured Elastoform Flashing. Its cured rubber consistency allows it to expand and contract with the EPDM membrane, ensuring reliability and performance in even the toughest conditions.

Application Instructions

1. Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are firm, dry, and free of oil, talc dust, or other debris. Clean the rubber with a Splice Wipe or equivalent, dampened with Weathered Membrane Cleaner. Use permeation-resistant gloves during cleaning.
2. Apply Sealant: Run an 8mm bead of Lap Sealant along the exposed edge of the membrane splice.
3. Feathering: Use the supplied feathering tool to smooth the sealant bead, ensuring the high point is above the splice offset and edges are feathered onto the deck.
4. Timing: Apply and feather the sealant on all splice edges by the end of the working day. Adhesive membrane splices require a minimum two-hour cure before applying Lap Sealant.
