ClassicBond EPDM Angled Roof Drain 100 x 100 x 500mm
If you’re searching for competitively priced, high-quality roof drains to suit a specific requirement, look no further than JJ Roofing. At JJ Roofing, we are pleased to stock the exceptional ClassicBond EPDM Angled Roof Drain. Sporting a right-angled flange that is 140mm x 245mm, this drain comes with fastening holes for convenient installation.
There is an outlet opening that measures 90mm x 90mm and a standard outlet length of 500mm. This makes the ClassicBond EPDM Angled Roof Drain well suited for most roof applications. It can be used in conjunction with many different types of roof including EPDM rubber roofing systems. The primary use of this drain is as a wall scupper that facilitates easy drainage through walls and pitched roofs.
It can also be used as a vertical drain in box gutters too. At JJ Roofing, we only stock the very best products that we are confident will provide many years of reliable service. The ClassicBond EPDM Angled Roof Drain certainly lives up to this reputation thanks to the synthetic rubber compound (IGOM) that is used in the construction of the outlet.
What sets the ClassicBond EPDM Angled Roof Drain apart from other drains is the clever design. It can be used both as an external or internal drain and has been specially designed for horizontal drains positioned through thick outer walls. It can be used in conjunction with bends or fittings and comes with seal rings. This means that the joint can be placed within the wall and the downpipe can be placed at a minimum distance from the wall.
Accessories include a 90° shoe and 1m extension which can be used to configure the drain to suit its intended purpose. A leaf and gravel guard is also provided to help prevent unwanted debris from entering and blocking the drain which would otherwise impact the drain’s ability to function correctly.
Installation of the ClassicBond EPDM Angled Roof Drain as part of your EPDM rubber roofing couldn’t be simpler. Typically, installation should be carried out with a 3° slope. To ensure success, make sure you follow the steps listed below:
- Install the outlet into the roof then ensure it is fixed mechanically before installing the membrane.
- ClassicBond Bonding Adhesive should then be applied to the outlet. Take care to leave an area around the outlet hole free of bonding adhesive – area should be around 50-75mm.
- Mate the membrane to the outlet once ready.
- Expose 50-75mm of the outlet flange by cutting a square hole in the membrane.
- Next, apply a ClassicBond EPDM Primer to the outlet and membrane.
- Wait for this to dry – then proceed to install Uncured Flashing Tape to seal the outlet to the membrane.
- A second layer of Uncured Flashing Tape should then be fixed as a collar inside the outlet pipe.
- Use a securing band of Uncured Flashing Tape if joining the outlet to any pipe extensions.
- Finally, insert a leaf guard or gravel gate to prevent obstructions from entering the drain.
The ClassicBond EPDM Angled Roof Drain has been designed in such a way that makes it simple to install even for those with very little experience. So with that in mind, if you’re looking to fit EPDM rubber roofing or some other roofing type, don’t delay a second longer.
