Castle Composites Extra 20 Sense Warm Sand Porcelain Paving 600x600mm
Castle Composites' porcelain paving tiles are full body porcelain, coloured all the way through, and well suited to balconies, terraces, and patios. The Extra20 Porcelain Paving is one of the most luxurious products in their range, as it is manufactured using the finest materials, techniques, and machinery for use on balconies, patios, and terraces. Castle Porcelain Slabs are extremely hard-wearing, dimensionally accurate, strong, lightweight, and aesthetically pleasing. They also offer a range of edges, corners, and trims to accommodate most applications.
Castle Porcelain Paving offers three installation methods depending on user requirements:
Raised installation using their range of support pads can be used outdoors on balconies, flat roofs, and any other area that requires a gap under the walking surface.
Installation on a mortar bed with bond bridge is also common, but this method is recommended for standard paving applications only. It is not suitable for use on flat roofs and balconies.
High traffic areas and areas where vehicles may be present will require installation using an external grade flexible fully bedded adhesive. When using this method, the gaps can also be grouted if required. The fully bedded adhesive method is not suitable for flat roofs or balconies.

FAQs
Do porcelain paving slabs crack easily?
Castle Composites' porcelain paving slabs are designed to be extremely hard-wearing, strong, and resistant to cracking. Their full body porcelain tiles are manufactured using the finest materials and techniques, ensuring they are dimensionally accurate and durable, making them suitable for various outdoor applications including balconies, terraces, and patios.
What is the difference between stoneware and porcelain tiles?
Stoneware and porcelain tiles differ mainly in their composition and manufacturing process. Porcelain tiles, like those offered by Castle Composites, are made from finer, denser clay and fired at higher temperatures, making them harder, more durable, and less porous than stoneware tiles. This results in porcelain being more scratch-resistant, frost-proof, and slip-resistant compared to stoneware.
Should porcelain slabs be laid on concrete?
Yes, porcelain slabs can be laid on concrete, but the method of installation is crucial. Castle Composites recommends using an external grade flexible fully bedded adhesive for high traffic areas and places where vehicles may be present. This method ensures a strong bond and durability. For standard paving applications, installation on a mortar bed with a bond bridge is also common. However, this method is not suitable for flat roofs or balconies.
