BMI Redland has established a solid reputation for innovation by consistently championing new products and fresh practices. It was BMI Redland who in 1965 opened the first wind tunnel for testing roofing products. A more sophisticated version was built in 1990. Each product is rigorously tested before being made available for purchase.
The testing process involves using combinations of high wind and driving rain in a Group wind tunnel to determine the tiles’ performance with respect to wind loading and weather tightness. All BMI Redland tiles meet the requirements of the BS5534 – the British Standard for Slating and Tiling – and the BMI Redland 49 is no exception to this rule.
