What are Jutland Fibre Cement Slates?

What are they and why choose them over natural slate ?

Fibre cement slate has been designed to look like slate and serve the same purpose as a covering for your pitched roof. Whereas conventional slates are pieces of metamorphic rock cut to size, Fibre Cement Slate has been manufactured, meaning all units are uniform in thickness, height and width.

More Economical

Jutland fibre cement slates are also much cheaper than natural roof slate but not just per unit.

Since they've been manufactured, they can be laid by anyone with experience of roof tiles, being able to lay slate is a much more specialised skill. They are also much faster to install, with holes already drilled into them and no need to grade or sort through them on site. All of this adds together and means you save on labour as well.

Appearance

Many would agree Slate is the better looking option with it's natural riven texture and organic grey colour. But as you can see in the picture below, a beautiful roof can also be achieved with Fibre Cement Slates as well!
