The three types of roofing sheet available on the market

Roofing sheets are used to protect the roofs of houses, conservatories, sheds, garages and so on. Roofing sheets are an integral part of any construction. There are different types of roofing sheets on the market. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses. Some of these are explained below.

Corrugated roofing sheets

Most of the roofing sheets are corrugated. This means that these sheets are folded in a repetitive pattern. There are many advantages of installing corrugated roofing sheets. With these roofing sheets, it is easier to fit to roof pieces together. Corrugating the roof sheets makes the roof stronger compared to a linear roof cover.

There are different types of corrugated roofing sheets. The most popular is the one with wave like curves. These are seen on most plastic and metal roof sheets. Another type of corrugated roofing sheets is the Spandek. This looks like flat topped triangles but these triangles are not wide. Another type is Trimdek which also has flat-topped triangles but the triangles are wider when compared to Spandek.

Polycarbonate roofing sheets

Polycarbonate roofing sheets are primarily used in industrial and commercial construction. As polycarbonate can withstand extreme temperatures and harsh weather conditions, it is used to manufacture roofing sheets for industrial buildings. Polycarbonate roofing sheets do not lose their stability when subjected to a contrast of climatic conditions. Another good thing about polycarbonate roofing sheets is that they are fire-resistant and durable.

Plastic roofing sheets

Plastic roofing sheets are used for smaller makeshift structures, structures which are not permanent. The durability level varies depending on the quality of plastic used in production. The cost also is determined by the type of plastic used.
